Brief Description

This 90-minute workshop is designed for the beginner triathlete looking to participate in their first or next triathlon. The workshop will cover: (1) Triathlon 101: Race distances, basic equipment and more; (2) "Rookie" mistakes: pitfalls to watch out for when starting out; (3) The basics of proper training and technique for swimming, cycling and running; (4) Beginner transition techniques and (5) Understanding how to build a safe training cycle.

About the instructors

This workshop will be led by Scott Berlinger, Andrew Kalley and Rich Krupa of the Full Throttle Endurance triathlon team. Scott is the Founder/President of Full Throttle Endurance and a USA Triathlon Level II Certified Coach and USA Cycling Coach. Andrew started his career as a Personal Trainer and is a Certified Personal Trainer and a USA Triathlon Level II Coach. Rich is is a sponsored triathlete, member of Team USA and a USAT certified coach.

When and Where

This 90 minute workshop will begin promptly at 8:00AM in the Lou Gehrig Lounge on the 3rd floor of Columbia University's Dodge Fitness Center.

All participants in this workshop will receive10% off enrollment in an 8-week Triathlon Training Level I program at the Sports Center at Chelsea Piers.
