Brief Description

Just for women, this workshop is focused on the beginner female triathlete. We will discuss race goals, workouts, equipment, clothing, nutrition and more, all from the perspective of a woman. Listen and learn through the eyes of Krista Schultz, an elite triathlete and exercise physiologist, who draws on her education and her training, racing and coaching experiences.

Speaker Bio

As a competitive triathlete, Krista has qualified and competed in the Ironman Hawaii World Championship and represented the state of Maryland for the Best of the U.S. Championship from 2006-2008 while achieving USA Triathlon All-American status four times. She also competed in the Duathlon World Championship in 2006. Krista has her BS and MEd in Exercise Physiology and is certified by NSCA (CSCS and CPT), USA Weightlifting, USA Triathlon and USA Cycling

You will learn how to avoid mistakes that most beginners make and maximize your energy and time in order to have fun and achieve your triathlon goals. Goals: Setting short and long terms goals (What race?) How to train properly (develop plan, use heart rate, strength train, etc.) Proper clothing and equipment for training and racing Nutrition - eating right to feel good and race fuel Woman's specific issues and how to deal with them Learn to avoid common mistakes and have fun
