What's Included

SCYLC 2015 Breaking Misconceptions will explore various facets of international development, and give you different perspectives and information to help you think critically about international development issues. The first step to creating social change is to learn about the real issues that developing nations face. By using a systems thinking approach, you will break down international development into systems and explore how these different systems interact and affect developing nations. The two main sub-themes of the conference, Systems Thinking and Youth Leadership, are aimed to give you the tools you need to create social change within your school and community. We hope that SCYLC will give you a refreshing outlook on the development sector and develop your leadership skills.

About This Organizer

The Engineering Student Outreach Office (ESOO), created in Fall 2009, manages and administers the core outreach programs offered by the Faculty. We act as the central unit for outreach activities promoting Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education to a wide audience. We design and deliver programs centrally, and coordinate the activities by other entities including student organizations, Faculty members, and Departments. The vast majority of outreach activities supported by ESOO are pre-university programming.

The Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering is committed to inspiring youth within the community and across the world through outreach programming that focuses on engineering and applied sciences. These programs range from summer live-in programs to weekend courses during the fall and spring terms.

Below is a listing of our current program offerings. Click on the links to find out more about each program.
