Be a part of the Spring Burn by running or walking the 5k or running the USATF certified (KS11002GAN) 15k. The challenging course was designed by fitness trainer, coach and accomplished runner Tony Estes. All participants will begin at Fellowship Bible Church (10th & Urish). 5k runners and walkers will follow scenic 10th street west with a turn- around in Indian Woods on Ottawa Trail and Cheptopa Trail Roads. Those brave enough to run the 15k will follow a route nearly identical to the 5k runners but will run much further west, crossing Auburn Road and turning around near the horse barn on Patton Road at I-70.5K participants are also encouraged to enter the 5K team competition. Teams are not limited by age range or gender. 5K Walk team awards will be given to the team with the most participants. 5K run awards will be given to the team with the most participants as well as the team with the fastest collective time based on the top 3 runners on each team. All participants are eligible to win any of the door prizes that have been provided by our generous area merchants. Awards will be presented to the top 3 overall male and female finishers, to the first male and female Masters finishers (over 40). Age Group awards will be presented to the first male and female finisher in age groups 19 and under and preceding upwards in five year increments.Runners are not allowed to push strollers. Walkers may do so as long as they start at the rear of the pack. ALL participants are required to wear their race number, visible on their front side at all times during the event. ALL participants are instructed to position themselves in the proper area of the pack at the start line so as to not impede the progress of faster participants behind them. NO participant may wear headsets or iPods, skates or roller blades, or bring animals or bikes on the race course during the event.
