What's Included

Making food taste great is simple when you’re working with fresh, local ingredients. But equally important is your technique, which doesn’t come from simply following recipes. Chef Bud Thomas's cooking classes enable students to work together in a fun, hands-on environment while learning fundamental skills for a lifetime of great cooking. Utilizing regionally acquired ingredients, students will work side by side to prepare a delicious variety of foods, and then share the fruits of their labor together with a glass of wine. Farmer's Market Bounty Menu: Chilled Cucumber-Ginger Soup with Tuna Crudo; Kale Caesar Salad with Chickpea Croutons and Shaved Parmesan; Apple Granita with Warm Caramel and Marcona Almonds Note: The menu is subject to change based on availability of ingredients. This class will be held in a beautiful suite at the Hotel Madeline in Telluride Mountain Village. Bud Thomas is the Hotel Madeline's Chef de Cuisine.

The Ah Haa School for the Arts is a community center of learning and culture that offers a wide variety of programs and seeks to inspire individuals of all ages to explore, develop and celebrate their creativity. Our home is a turn-of-the-century train depot, a beautiful building listed on the National Register of Historic Places, located in scenic Telluride, Colorado.
