What's Included

In the painted representation of things the central or single image is the equivalent of the portrait. Consider: Courbet’s trout; Soutine’s salmon; Rembrandt’s carcass of beef; Soutine’s variations of it; Giacometti’s Apple on a Sideboard; Raphaelle Peale’s After the Bath; Georgia O’Keefe; Walter Murch; David Park’s sink, comb; Lopez-Garcia’s bathroom and kitchen objects; Rene Magritte’s boulder; Andy Warhol’s soup cans and electric chair. Sculptures by Marcel Duchamp and Claes Oldenberg. a pin a car This class will explore the material possibilities of paint working from a seen motif or out of one’s head; drawing as a study medium at all points of a painting’s life; scale.

The Ah Haa School for the Arts is a community center of learning and culture that offers a wide variety of programs and seeks to inspire individuals of all ages to explore, develop and celebrate their creativity.
