This introductory workshop is your chance to be your own knitwear designer. Learn how to develop a pattern on your own from pictures or existing items. We'll explore gauge/needle size, stitch patterns, color, and sizing to come up with an original design for a sweater, vest or whatever you like. There will be plenty of finished items on hand for inspiration, but bring along your own, too, if you want. The first part of the class will be devoted to instruction and the second part you will be working independently with one-on-one help from the instructor, as needed. This class is meant to be a springboard for starting to design on your own. Participants should have good basic knitting skills and bring their own yarn and needed. Some extra supplies will be available for purchase from the instructor. Bring your own skein/ball of yarn (not too fine), knitting needles, a sketchbook/ notebook, and items for design inspiration.
