Brief Description

These three-hour clinics run by Swim Art will prepare you to swim comfortably in open water. We will teach you everything you need to know: relaxation skills, how to overcome the cold, and sighting skills. The program includes a one-hour talk and a 30-minute swim. If you are interested in trying open water swimming for the first time, are apprehensive about the cold water, or want to transfer your pool swimming skills to a more challenging environment, this intro clinic is a perfect for you.

Additional Information

Prerequisites - must be able to swim one length of the pool, crawl stroke, without stopping. This is not a technique clinic. Equipment to have for the clinic: - Lots of warm clothes and a hat to put on after you swim - Sunscreen - Bottle of warm water to clean the sand off your feet off after - Body Glide or Vaseline (if you don't have any we'll have some extra, too) - Goggles - Swim Suit - Wetsuit (optional) - Earplugs, if your ears are at all sensitive to the water - Trash bag to take your wet wetsuit home in After completing the intro clinic, you might be interested in joining our regular Group Swims at Aquatic Park.
