This course is designed to instruct participants in the skills and techniques required to teach the fundamentals of swimming and water safety. Anyone interested in teaching swimming lessons with the City of Phoenix must have a Starfish Swimming instructor certification. Prerequisites: Must be 16 years old prior to the last day of class and be able to successfully complete the pre-course swimming skills test. After successful completion, participants will be certified as Starfish Swimming Instructor (SSI).
