Brief Description

Important Information! For the First Time Ever, the Redwood Coast Masters is adding a 500 Meter swim to our Spring Lake Swim. This is a perfect swim for new competitors and triatheletes that want a safe open water experience. The Redwood Coast Chapter of the United States Lifesaving Association in conjunction with Redwood Coast Masters will be hosting the 17th Annual Spring Lake Open Water Swims on Saturday May 21st.

Additional Information

The swim will begin and end on a small sandy beach. Water temperature should be 68 to 70 degrees. The swimmers will swim straight out towards the north end of the lake and loop around a buoy marker. They will then travel the east side of the lake to the south end looping around the final buoy marker, continue back up the west side to finish at the starting point. All participants must wear the provided swim cap; there will be no exceptions. Wet suits or other non-porous attire will render that swimmer ineligible for awards. Awards will be given to the overall female and male winners and to the first three places in all age groups. The 500m swim will be a straight out and back swim from our sandy beach. The course will be patrolled by lifeguards from Redwood Coast Lifesaving Association. All pre-registered competitors will receive a commemorative t-shirt. T-shirts will also be on sale race day.
