Description
A 1.25 mile swim from Alcatraz to Aquatic Park in the Bay of San Francisco. This is a challenging, cold-water swim and we recommend all participants to train sufficiently in advance.

Please Note: This swim is not for novices. This event is for experienced open-water swimmers only. You should be able to swim one mile comfortably in a pool in under 40 minutes. Minors participanting
Minimum age for participants is 14 years old. Any participant under 18 years old, must be registered by a parent or guardian. The parent or guardian must present at least two weeks in advance probe of their minor long distance swimming abilities, and this letter or document must be signed by a certified coach or lifeguard.
A letter from a parent or guardian, stating their knowledge of the risks of swimming in open water among a large group of competitive swimmers.
Must sign a waiver and present a copy of health insurance.

Saturday August 25th - From 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. - 2 Briefings (Highly recommended to attend these briefings)
Sports Basement is housed in the old Presidio Commissary building and carries just about everything you need for hiking, biking, running, skiing, camping and all things outdoors. They have a huge selection of popular, name brands at 30-60% below retail. Sports Basement will be providing snacks and a 20% discount for all attendees. (10% will be donated by Sports Basement to our charity organizations)
