Event

2 Mile Open Water Swim across Lake Murray at the Dam. Starting at the Irmo Boat Landing and finishing at the SCE&G Park beach on the Lexington side.

Directions

From Lexington N. Lake Dr (Hwy 6) across the dam to the Irmo side, entrance is on the left. From Columbia I26 to Piney Grove Rd exit left to St Andrews Rd turn right to Old Bush River Rd turn left to Lake Murray Blvd (Hwy 6) left at light entrance will be on right.

Times

Check in & late registration begins at 8:00, Pre-race meeting at 8:45 and Swim starts at 9:00

Eligibility

Event is open to all USA-S age 11 and older registered athletes and to all USMS registered swimmers 19 years of age as of August 24, 2010. Your USMS membership card or copy of must be presented at checkin. One Event fees are available for athletes not registered with USMS or USA Swimming. Additional fee for 18 and under is $15 and 19 and older is $14

Fees

$30.00 / $32.00 for out of state USA-S Swimmers ($10.00 Entry Fee and $20.00 Foundation Contribution) includes cap, T-shirt and swimmer hospitality. Entry deadline is September 10th; entries received after that date require a $10.00 late fee and are not guaranteed a T-shirt. Late fee applies to day-of-event entries

Awards

Trophies will be given to the top 3 finishers (excluding wetsuit swimmers), by gender, in each event.

Rules & Safety

All applicable USA-S and USMS rules, regulations and safety requirements will be enforced for the wellbeing of all swimmers. Safety boats will monitor the entire course. Swimmers boarding a boat will not be allowed to reenter the water. Events end 1.5 hours after the last wave start. Any participants remaining at that time will be picked up by boat. Swimmers must wear race cap and body marked with swimmer number.

Swimmer Transportation & Bags

Swimmers may leave their cars at the finish located on the Lexington side at the SCE&G park. Shuttles will be available to transport swimmers to the start at the Boat Ramp on the Irmo side. Swimmers may take a personal bag to the start side that will be transported to the finish after the event.
