Couch to 5K in 9 Weeks Ladies Only Edition

This training program aims to prepare you slowly and painlessly to run a 5K race. Its secret is that it?s a gentle introduction to getting the body moving, starting off alternating between walking and running small distances, and slowly building up until after 9 weeks, you?re ready to run 5 kilometers or 30 minutes non stop. We will meet as a group twice a week; the third training of the week you will need to complete on your own. Program will include nutritional, strength training and stretching information. At the end, we will run the Jingle Bell run 5K race on December 8th, 2012. (Separate fee for the 5K required). Couch to 5K shirt included to wear to the race! Ages 18+
Running Coach: Jamie Edge
Jamie Edge is a mother of two that started running in 2005, when she trained for her first 5K. She has now completed dozens of half marathons and marathons. She enjoys seeing the enthusiasm in new runners in her Couch to 5K programs, as they embrace an active lifestyle. Jamie was recently featured in BRAVA magazine, highlighting her coaching experience for new runners. She was also nominated by SHAPE magazine in 2011 as one of the top blogs for fitness junkies and was just recently featured in a fitness commercial for the Madison area running store Catalyst.
