Sunshine Sprint 2013

About This Activity

Whether you are seasoned athlete or novice the third annual Sunshine Sprint is an event designed for you! A warm up or practice before your big triathlon, fitness goal, or fun day in the sun. This sprint triathlon consists of a .25 mile swim in the Atlantic Ocean, a 9.5 mile bike ride from Stuart Beach up Ocean DBoulevard toward Jensen Beach and back south over the Ernest Lyons Bridge & back to the starting point, and a 2.6 mile walk from Stuart Beach north along Ocean Boulevard & back. Participate in all three legs yourself, or build a relay team of up to three athletes. Throw down the gauntlet to your family, co-workers, neighbors, friends and earn bragging rights for the year.

What are the USA Triathlon Rules that must be followed during the race?

  • Helmets must be used at all times.
  • Chin straps must be buckled at all times
  • No headphones, headsets, walkmans, i-pods, mp3 players or personal audio devices are to be worn .
  • Race numbers are required to be worn at all times and numbers must face the front.
  • Wetsuits are permitted to be worn.
