Run and bike through the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, including a run along the North Fork of the Shenandoah River. The bike course will take you near Civil War Battlefields, rolling farm and pasture lands, and gorgeous views of Massanutten and North Mountains.
1st 5k Run
Run:Start at River Walk at Strasburg Town Park. Follow River Walk to Strasburg High School and then transition to Ram Drive. Follow Ram Drive to South Holliday Street. Turn right on South Holliday Street. Turn left onto High Street. Turn right onto Sharpe Street. Turn right onto Queen Street. Turn right back onto S. Holliday Street. Turn left onto Ram Drive and follow back to River Walk and transition area.
Bike Route 33k
2013 NEW: Park Rd. Turn left-Queen St. Turn right-Massaunutten. Turn left -King St. Follow King St to Route 11. Turn right-Brook Creek Rd (railroad). Turn left-Harrisville Rd. Turn right -Back Rd. Turn right-Mt. Hebron Rd. Turn left -Copp Rd. Bear left-Green Acre Dr. Turn right -Junction Rd (railroad). Junction Rd turns into Ash St. Turn right-Capon St. Turn left -King Street. Turn right-Massanutten St. Turn left-Queen St. Turn right-Park Rd back to transition area.

Packet Pick Up
Packet Pick Up will be Strasburg Park starting at 6:30am and will go through 7:45am. You will need your USAT card as well as your drivers license to pick up your packet.

Route 66 West take I-81 Southbound, Exit #298 - Strasburg, At stop sign, turn left onto Route 11 SouthAt 2nd light (intersection of Route 11 and Route 55), get into left lane. Go straight on Massanutten Street. At first intersection, make a left onto E. Queen Street. You'll follow that out through a residential area and then an industrial area. You'll eventually come to the park entrance on your right; it's marked Park Road. Turn right. Follow the park road to the directed Parking area.
Race timing provided by Tri Performance, LLC. Pick up your chip/packet pick up race morning. Single racer: attach chip to ankle and leave on for the race. Team racers: Share chip and change in transition area. All racers will be directed over timing areas. After race chip to be returned to finish line. If you drop out return chip to finish line. Splits provided: 5k 1, T1, Bike, T2, Final 5k and overall time.
The 3rd Annual Strasburg Duathlon will once again allow team registration. If you're registering as a two-person team, please be sure that the lead person registers completes the team question by indicating their team name and which part of the event they will complete. Second team member will need to complete reg. form on-site.

Regarding the running route, it is relatively flat at the start; you will have one hill climb during the first third of the race, a very small hill climb at the halfway point, and then a return downhill to the transition area. Hotel Room Block
For any out-of-town racers, SCPR has set-up a discounted rate room block at the Fairfield Inn & Suites, Strasburg, for race weekend. Please contact the hotel at 540-465-1600 and ask for the Duathlon room block. All discounted rates in the room block must be booked by April 5.
NEW: Friday Night Dinner
Hi-Neighbor Restaurant has added a Friday night dinner for all participants! Come on out Friday afternoon (April 12) and ride the race course, and then join us that evening, 6:30-8:00pm, for a big, all-you-can-eat buffet. We'll have some door prizes and some special guests too! The cost is $10/person; you must RSVP and then make payment at-the door.
