Bio: My name is Carly Weber and I am a third year Communication Sciences and Disorders major at Penn State and have been involved in the sign language club at Penn State for all three years. The goal of Sign Language Club is to introduce the students to sign language as a visual form of communication. In the past, we’ve focused on teaching the ASL fingerspelling alphabet and vocabulary via games and activities that are both educational and fun! Intro: We will offer students the opportunity to learn about American Sign Language: the similarities and differences of a visual language, an intro to expressive and receptive skills which will include numbers, finger spelling and word signs chosen based on appropriate themes. Students will have an opportunity for interaction with their peers through communication games and activities. We look forward to providing both a fun and learning environment as the students learn about a wonderful language and it's uses.
