What's Included

Phil has been involved in scouting since early childhood. Advancing as far as Second Class in Boy Scouts, Phil has had the opportunity to help the surrounding community and learn multiple lessons and skills. Phil has been co-leading the YSCP Cub Scout for three years. Phil is also an avid Obstacle Course Racer with Spartan Race as his most frequent courses. We are currently looking for a substitute for Phil’s Co-leader because Kristine will be studying abroad for most of the spring semester. Introduction: We will be scratching the surface of scouting and learning about it in general. We hope to start the NOVA/STEM Award projects. We hope to be an active group in our community, and learn various activities that are learned through scouting. The First week or two of the new semester will be used as introduction, establishing the rules, and doing a recap of the previous semester for those students who are new. Cub Scouts is on Mondays for both sessions for boys grades 1-5. There is a $10 fee for all Boys (Check made out to JVC BSA) who attend Cub Scouts. If you child did not attend the club in Fall 2014 you will need to fill out an application form. The form and fee will be Due by February 23rd. If we do not have your child’s registration complete by this date they will not be able to participate in the club due to the insurance policy of the BSA organization. Phil will be holding a Meet and Greet night possibly on Monday Feb. 23rd, where you may come meet him and pay/fill out your registration to complete the process. We have not confirmed this date and time so for look for a future email if you choose to enroll in scouting. Goals and Objectives: • Meaning of Cub Scouts • Obstacle Courses • Sportsmanship and Sports • Community Service • Safety • NOVA/STEM Award
