The Cpl. John Stalvey 5K proceeds go to the Cpl. John Stalvey Foundation. We are a 501c(3), nonprofit organization dedicated to serving those that have served our country and their families.
Start/ Finish Registration Location
Start/ Finish/ Registration for both races will be at Mallery Park on St. Simons Island, GA. (Mallery Park is just north of Kings Way on Mallery Street.)
The 5K run features flat asphalt streets through quiet residential area near pier.
Registration Fees and Dates
Race Day Registration and Packet Pick Up: 6:15am -7:15am, Mallery Park, St. Simons Island. Active prices- $25 before May 11th, $30 thereafter until midnight May 22nd, $35 on race day (cash only on race day)
Race Day Registration CUT OFF
Race Day Registration ends 7:15 am - NO EXCEPTIONS!
There is not a walkers division, but walkers are welcome.
Pre-race Packet Pickup
Glynn Place Mall on Friday May 24th from 5-7pm Center Court
All PRE-REGISTERED participants by May 11th will be guaranteed a t-shirt. Registrations received on May 12th through race day will receive t-shirts while supplies last.
Awards Ceremony will be held in Mallery Park near the finish after results are completed.
Unique awards presented to the Overall Male and Female, Overall Masters Male and Female (50+). The first Male and first Female that finishes the 5K race will receive the Overall Award regardless of age. Top three 5K males and females in each of the following age groups will receive awards. 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over.
One Mile Awards
All one mile run particpants will receive an award.
IMPORTANT RACE INFO
No dogs, bikes, rollerblades, skateboards will be allowed in the races. Runner will be disqualified if in violation.

Corporal Stalvey joined the United States Marine Corps following the terrorist attacks on 9/11. After boot camp graduation and serving tours of duty as an infantryman in Cuba, Africa, and Afghanistan, John was later accepted into the USMC Scout Sniper School in Quantico, VA. Upon graduation from Sniper School, he was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force in Camp Lejune, NC. John was deployed to Iraq, and was killed in action by an improvised explosive device while conducting combat operations against enemy forces during Operation Iron Fist in Karabilah, Iraq.
