Description
This is a unique opportunity to learn from one of the greatest triathletes of all time, Mark Allen. Mark will focus this 3-hour camp on improving your mechanics in each sport. Included will be drills that will enable you to experience faster running and swimming. We will be using the track and pool so you can immediately feel the difference when efficient motion of your body is set into action. In addition, a nuts and bolts demonstration of what to look for in bike positioning will be given
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
Attendees of this workshop will learn (1) drills for improved efficiency and power output in all three sports; (2) flexibility work that will enhance range of motion; and (3) how to improve efficiency of the neurological pathway between your brain and your muscles.
CLASS SIZE:
To maximize the learning opportunity this workshop will provide the class will be limited to 20 athletes.
WHAT TO BRING:
This half day workshop includes time in the pool, on the track and training drills. Bring what you need to swim (suit, goggles, towel) and run/exercise (running shoes, comfortable clothes). Drinks will be available but it's always good to bring your preferred drink.
ABOUT MARK ALLEN:
Mark Allen was named The Greatest Triathlete of All Time by Triathlete Magazine and rightly so. Mark is a 6x Ironman World Champion, was the first ever ITU Olympic Distance World Champion and was called The Worlds Fittest Man by Outside magazine. PLEASE NOTE: This workshop takes place on Saturday, March 23rd which is the day BEFORE the TRI-MANIA Summit and Expo at Georgetown Prep taking place on Sunday, March 24th.
Event schedule and times
The Go Faster through Better Race Mechanics will begin at 8:30am and go until about 11:30am. Registered athetes will report to the Hanley Center for Athletic Excellence at 8:15am to check in and then head to the pool deck to prepare for the start of the workshop.
