Do not mail entries after Nov. 23. This race is part of the Md. State Grand Prix racing series. If you are a MRRCA member, please indicate club initial on entry form.

NO race-day registration; marathon is limited to 550 entrants, no one under 16 years of age allowed in marathon; teams limited to 40, no one under 14 allowed as a team member.

Race Day
beginning at 7 a.m.

Directions and Parking: Take Exit 24 off I-83. Approximately quarter of a mile to school entrance. Parking is very limited at the school. We will provide a shuttle bus service from the parking lot at 14550 York Road (Western Run Business Park) beginning at 6:30 a.m. and back to the parking lot post race.

Directions to Western Run Business Park
From I-83 South: Exit east on Belfast Rd., go past Sparks Elementary School. Turn right on York Rd. (MD 45) for 1.3 miles on your right.
From I-83 North: Exit east on Shawan Rd. past Hunt Valley Mall to York Rd. (MD 45) Turn left and parking is 2.1 miles north.

Course: USATF-certified and a Boston qualifier; Runners must complete the course in six hours (a 13:45 minute pace); runners must clear the 13.1 point in three hours or less in order to continue on the course. A runner can't run as an individual and as part of a team. Each team member runs 13.1 miles. Second runner will be transported to exchange point by bus and first runner will be transported back to the school.

Starts and finishes at Sparks Elementary School. First 1.8 miles on road to get to trail, travel north on a dirt and crushed stone trail for 11.7 miles before returning for 11.2 miles before reaching the last 1.5 miles on road to return to the school. Slight upgrade on trail going out and slight downgrade on the return.

NCR Pace Policy
Runners must be at the 13.1 mile/turnaround mark by 11:30 a.m. or at the 20-mile mark by 1:10 p.m. Runners arriving at the 13.1 mile/turnaround mark after the designated time will be directed to the finish line and not allowed to complete the entire course. Anyone not completing the entire course will not receive an official NCR Marathon race time or result.

Amenities: Hot soup and other foods at the school on your return; water and Gatorade on the trail approximately every 3-3.5 miles; medals to marathon finishers and relay teams; warm waiting area and baggage drop in school gym; unique awards based on the Northern Central Railway heritage. (This is a "Rails to Trails" course.)

Premiums: A long sleeve wicking mock neck shirt with embroidered logo on the collar. Sizes available are small, medium, large, extra large and youth large. This is unisex, but the youth large is a good substitute for an extra small.

Awards will be given to the top five men and women overall and top two men and women in the masters category. Top three male and female finishers in the following age groups: 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over. Medals and certificates to all marathon finishers. Overall and masters winners are not eligible for age group awards.

Top two teams in each of the following categories: male, female, co-ed and senior (total age: 110 years); medals to all team finishers.

Cash awards of $150 for new event records in male, female, open and masters. Event records are as follows: open men: 2:25:18; open women: 2:47:25; masters men: 2:36:03; masters female: 3:04:02.
Awards will not be mailed.

In addition, A pair of Brooks running shoes will be awarded to the top M/F winners courtesy of Falls Road Running Store.

MDRRCA Grand Prix Series: The 2013 NCR Trail Marathon is the 11th and final race of the 2013 MDRRCA Grand Prix Series. To be eligible to score points for this series, an Northern Central Trail Marathon participant must have indicated his or her Maryland RRCA club affiliation when registering for the race. MDRRCA GPS awards are presented at the MDRRCA 10 Mile Club Challenge in February 2013 in Columbia, Md.

Timing and Scoring by Charm City Timing using IPICO chips. Chip must be worn on the shoe and returned at finish line. Runners will be invoiced $30 for failure to return chip.
