The race began as the desire of Director of Outreach and Member Services Nikia Williams to run her very first half-marathon and turned into the creation of a race for her teammates and her Baltimore chapter to run alongside her.
The Half Marathon & Relay is a 13.1 mile out and back race with a 3 person relay component (3.25 miles, 6.6 miles, 3.25 miles). New this year is a Kids K loop around the Oldfields campus.
Will be a 13.1 mile out and back course. Course will begin at Oldfields School and travel .8 miles along Glencoe Rd to where it intersects with the NCR trail. Runners will head NORTH on the trail towards Monkton and will run 5.75 miles out, turn around and come back.
Relay exchange will take place at Monkton Station. Runners will be able to park along the Monkton Rd. shoulder. We will have shuttles running as well. Shuttles with the 2nd leg runners will leave Oldfields School promptly at 8:25am.
You may either pay the registration fee, or receive a FREE entry by registering as a FundRacing All-Star. Standard registration allows you to proceed as normal. Registering as a FundRacing All-Star will entitle you to a registration fee of just $1! $150 minimum required for all FundRacing Half Marathon All-Stars. $250 for a Relay Team of 3. This will not be a chip timed race.
There are 3 aid stations located on the course, so you will pass by 6 in total at 2.55, 3.25, 5.7, 7.4, 9.85, and 10.55 miles. Water, Gatorade chews and Gatorade will be available at the aid stations.
Who needs t-shirts? More running gear? You're all runners! You've got enough of that! What about sweatbands (show off your BoMF spirit!) and re-usable bags. We're so GREEN!
Including, but not limited to Half-marathon Overall Male & Female Winners, Half-marathon Age Group Winners, Top All Male Relay Team, Top All-Female Relay Team, Top Co-Ed Relay Team, Most Spirited Individual, Most Spirited Team, Best Dressed, Best Baton (All runners must RUN the relay, wheels and/or motorized vehicles are not acceptable batons). NO CASH PRIZES. But more than just a high-five.
Packets can be picked up between 5pm and 9pm at the MAC Timonium at 110 W. Timonium Rd, Timonium, MD 21093 on Wednesday, April 2nd and the MAC in Harbor East at 655 S. President St. #200, Baltimore, MD 21202 on Thursday, April 3rd. There will also be race day pick-up, but would strongly encourage picking up packets early if you are able! Someone may come and pick-up your packet for you. Feel free to pack a gym bag and work out at the MAC when you come to get your packet!
Don't want to run but still want to join the fun? Come volunteer! We need you! We also encourage groups to apply! School groups, clubs etc.... There are plenty of opportunities for a big group to volunteer together. Baltimore BOMF teams run Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 5:30am, as well as Saturdays at 7am. They have already begun a training plan for both the half-marathon and relay distances.
