About This Activity

Sadly, statistics tell us that Alzheimer’s is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States and the only cause of death among the top 10 that cannot be prevented, cured or even slowed.  Every 67 seconds someone in the United States develops this disease.  Our goal with the St. Joseph of the Pines Alzheimer’s Color Your World Run is to provide funds in support of the Alzheimer’s Association Mission “to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research;  to provide and enhance care and support for all affected;  and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health”.

Event details and schedule

St. Joseph of the Pines, Inc. is the proud sponsor of the 2nd Annual Alzheimer's Color Your World Run, benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association.  The race will be held on Saturday, September 19, 4:30PM, at St. John Paul II Catholic School (start/finish). This run is USSATF certified (NC14101DF) and it is a timed event.  Registration that afternoon starts at 4:00PM.   Participants will receive a white race t-shirt which will be perfect to wear on the day of the race to show off the many colors that will be splashed all over your shirt.  The race course will span the campuses of St. John Paul II Catholic School and Belle Meade at St. Joseph of the Pines.  Parking will be available in the field directly across from St. John Paul II Catholic School on Camp Easter Road.

This is our 2nd annual run. We are calling on Runners, Volunteers and Sponsors in the community to help us make this a success. The run will span the 20 acre campus of SJPII and Belle Meade.  And, the SUPER FUN FEATURE is the color theme.  At specific areas on the course runners will be splashed with a myriad of color!

Packet pickup is Friday, Sept. 18th from 4-6PM at the Belle Meade Clubhouse, Fordham room.  Pre-registering guarantees a white race t-shirt, race packet and cookout!  Water will be provided on the course.  Participants will get a cook out supper following the race at the Wellness Park on the Belle Meade campus!  Walk from start/finish to easily access Wellness Park.

Color Significance:

Purple – Someone who has lost a loved one to the disease

Yellow – Represents someone who is currently caring for someone with the disease

Orange – is for everyone who supports the cause and envisions a world without Alzheimer’s.
