Lacrosse-Indoor Clinic for Girls, Grades 3-5

The South Orange Department of Recreation & Cultural Affairs will offer an indoor lacrosse clinic for South Orange and Maplewood Girls in Grades 3-12 on Wednesday nights in the South Orange Middle School Gym. Girls will be separated by age and skill level to get the most out of this instructional clinic. Program highlights include sessions on stick checking, proper cradling technique, aspects of shot selection and offensive placement, zone and "man to man" defenses.

  • Grades 3-5, 6:45-8:15 pm
  • Grades 6-8, 6:45-8:15 pm
  • Grades 9-12, 8:15-9:45 pm

The indoor lacrosse clinic will be under the direction of Kelly Buechel. Kelly graduated from Columbia High School in 2008 with All-American lacrosse recognition her senior year. She was a 4-year starter at Columbia University, playing in the midfield. She received Ivy League honorable mention her senior year and was selected to play in the 2013 IWLCA Division I All-Star game. Kelly coached the CHS Girl's Freshman lacrosse team in 2011 and has helped run this Indoor Clinic in the past.

EQUIPMENT NEEDS - All participants must have their own mouth guard. Eye goggles must be worn and some are available for use. Participants who have their own sticks should bring them to each session. A limited number of lacrosse sticks are available for use.
