Registration Process

For those needing assistance registering online please attend YSA's Registration Day on 6/30/12 from 12pm-3pm at Big Bear Sports Center or during office hours starting 7/2/12. Registrations by mail will not be accepted.

Eligibility to Play

YSA provides a recreational soccer program for players of all skill levels in Kindergarten through 12th grade. Kindergarten players must have turned 5 by September 10, 2012 and must be currently enrolled in a Kindergarten program. Preschoolers are not eligible to play, regardless of age.

Registration Confirmation

Participants are registered for YSA's Fall 2012 soccer season only when printable confirmation page screen appears and when email registration confirmation is received by the email address listed by participant. Please print registration confirmation for your records.

Player Fee

$45 per player for first 2 players, half price for additional siblings. After July 6th, a $5 late fee will be assessed to each registrant. For Financial Assistance, please contact the YSA office at ysasoccer@qwestoffice.net.

Season Dates

Fall season games are played on Saturdays at Amend Park from September 8th - October 20th. Game times can vary throughout the day with starting times from 8:30 - 4:00. Game schedules will be available to coaches on September 4th & they will distribute them to players.

Team Practice Schedule

Practice times and locations will be set by the volunteer team coach. At the end of August after team assignments have been made, players will be contacted by their assigned coach and informed of practice schedule. Players who have not been contacted by a coach by September 1st should notify YSA at ysasoccer@qwestoffice.net.

Equipment Needed

Players must wear shin guards completely covered by socks and soccer cleats or athletic shoes at all practices and games. Softball/baseball cleats with toe cleats are not allowed. Players also need a water bottle and a soccer ball. (Size 3 ball for K - 2nd grades; Size 4 ball for 3rd - 6th grades; Size 5 ball for 7th - 12th grades.) Team T-shirts will be provided for each player and will be distributed by team coach. NO JEWELRY OF ANY KIND IS PERMITTED (INCLUDING PIERCED EARRING POSTS).

Refund Policy

To obtain a refund, please submit a self-addressed envelope no later than September 8th to YSA, 1445 Ave. B Suite F, Billings, MT 59102, and include the player’s name and grade. $5 will be deducted from player registration fees to cover administrative costs. Refunds will be issued by the end of September.

Waiting List Policy

Registrations after 7/6/12 will incur a $5 late fee and will be placed on a waiting list for possible placement subject to availability. When a wait listed player is placed on a team, s/he will be notified by the team coach. YSA usually places more than 80% of the waiting list, but in the event YSA is unable to place a waiting list registrant by September 24th, refund checks will be issued by the end of September. $5 will be deducted from the registration fees to cover administrative costs.

Team Formation

Although YSA is not a school league, the school listed on the registration is used as a guide for team placement. Teams are comprised of players from two or more schools and will be divided by age group as listed above under "Season Dates". Siblings of the same age group will be assigned to the same team, and parents who volunteer to coach are always assigned to coach their child’s team.

No Request Policy

YSA cannot accomodate requests for placement for any reason, including carpooling, scheduling and coach/player preferences. All team assignments are final and will not be changed for any reason other than for YSA administrative purposes.

Volunteer Screening Policy

All Coach and Assistant Coach positions are subject to criminal background checks. Records must be clear of felony and misdemeanor convictions of Disqualifying Offenses, crimes of violence and/or crimes against a person pursuant to the SAY National Volunteer Screening Policy.

Volunteer Coach/Assistance Coach Description

No experience necessary. Set weekly team practice schedule and organize age-appropriate practice drills to teach players basic soccer skills, rules and good sportsmanship. K - 3rd grade coaches share referee duties for their games. YSA provides an informational coaches' meeting at the beginning of the season. Additional coaching resources are available via links on the YSA website (www.ysasoccer.org).

Volunteer Team Parent Description

Help team coach with phone calls. Provide adult presence at practices as needed (YSA requires that 2 unrelated adults attend all practices and team functions). Assign players’ parents to Treat Schedule and Field Set-Up /Takedown Schedule.

Volunteer Field Set-Up/Take-Down Description

All parents will be asked to pitch-in by assisting with goal and flag set-up before early games and takedown after late games as scheduled by Team Parent.

Corporate Sponsor Description

Corporate Sponsors contribute $1,500 per season ($2,700 for a 2 season commitment). Corporate Sponsor name/logo is printed on the backs of all YSA team t-shirts in addition to receiving 5 Team Sponsorships. Please contact the YSA office at ysasoccer@qwestoffice.net or 655-7842 by July 20th.

Team Sponsor Description

Team Sponsors contribute $150 per team. Sponsor name/logo is printed on the front of the sponsored team's t-shirts. A specific player's team may be requested, subject to availability. Team sponsorships can be submitted online during player registration or by printing and mailing in the Sponsor Form from the YSA website. The deadline for Team Sponsors is August 1st.
