Brief Description

The 2010 Colorado Governor's Cup Nordic ski race returns to Devil's Thumb Ranch with more race options this year and more prizes and awards! Post-race activities include a BBQ with live music in the historic Broad Axe barn.

Registration Details

RACE FEES: 30/15 km- $35 for on-line. Late registration is $50.
5 km -$25 on-line. Late registration $50.
3 km race- $10, FREE RENTALS
1 km race- free and FREE RENTALS
ON-LINE EARLY REGISTRATION CLOSES at 6pm on Jan. 28th. On site registration and bib pick-up at Devil's Thumb Ranch ONLY on Jan. 29th from 3-7pm and on Sat. morning Jan. 30th from 7-10 am at Broad Axe Barn.

Prizes and Awards- 30 km Races

30km Skate Race: Prize money will be awarded to the Top 5 Male and Female finishers. The purse will be distributed as follows: 1st- $1000, 2nd- $600, 3rd- $400, 4th- $250, 5th-$150, 6th- $100
30 km Classic: Medals and merchandise to the Top 3 overall male and female finishers.
Age Class Awards: awards for top SKATE finishers in designated age groups

Prizes and Awards- 15km races

Devil's Chase 15km: Top male and female finishers of Classic and Skate races receive a One Night Stay at Devil's Thumb Ranch. Medals and merchandise will be awarded to the top 3 fnishers in both classic and skate races.

Prizes and Awards- 5 km, 3km and 1km races

5km Skate and Classic Medals and merchandise will be awarded to the top 3 fnishers in both classic and skate races. 1km and 3km races : Hot chocolate and homemade cookies compliments of Devil's Thumb Ranch and medal for each participant.

Racers can get their pre-race caffeine beverage of choice at the Ranch's Hallowed Grounds coffee shop and refuel post-race with a scrumptious BBQ feed. From Denver, head west on I-70. Take exit 232 onto Hwy 40. Follow Hwy 40 for approximately 30 miles through Empire, over Berthoud Pass, and past Winter Park and Fraser. Additional Information

The Governor's Cup Ski race series is a fun event for participants of varying ski abilities and includes events for the youngsters in the family.
With its 80 miles of groomed trails, Devil's Thumb Ranch ranks as one of the premiere Nordic skiing centers in the Rockies. Some of the original trails were designed by U.S. Olympian Dick Taylor in the 1970s. The surrounding Indian Peaks will serve as the perfect back-drop for the post-race photo.
