    Additional Information

SkiAble is an annual event in the mountains of Arizona for individuals with permanent physical disabilities. The cooperative program provides an opportunity for beginner, intermediate and advanced skiers to experience the thrill of the downhill sport.

Athletes include, but are not limited to, those with amputations, cerebral palsy, dwarfism, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury and visual impairments. Athletes may be ambulatory or use mobility aides such as prosthetics or a manual or power wheelchair.

This event is hosted by Arizona Disabled Sports, the City of Mesa’s Adaptive Sports Program and Sunrise Ski Park. Adaptive Instructors from the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center in Colorado travel to the event to assist with lessons.
