CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates. All proceeds from this event will benefit CASA kids in the Eastern Panhandle this way…through the recruitment, screening, training, supervision and retention of community volunteers who become CASA. CASAs are appointed by judges to advocate for children (birth to age 18) removed from their homes due to child abuse and neglect. CASAs work with the child, their families and caregivers, their teachers, doctors and basically anyone who touches the life of the child in order to make factual recommendations to the court as to the best interest of the child and make referrals as to the safe and permanent placement of the child.
