What's Included

Ever consider riding the entire length of the C & O Canal Tow Path (184.5 miles) in one day? Well, that is the goal of Ann Cornell, administrator of Shepherd's Spring, to celebrate her 60th birthday and 25 years of summer camp ministry at Shepherd's Spring. Help Ann train for her 2016 goal, and be a part of raising funds for capital program improvements such as a climbing wall or zip line for the initiatives course at Shepherd's Spring by participating in or sponsoring riders in one or more of the nine training rides. All rides include T-shirt, snacks, and transportation from Shepherd's Spring (except for the Florida rides) Use the Shepherd's Spring bikes or bring your own bike. Non-riders can purchase T-shirts for $10 Fall 2015 The "Gap Trail", Cumberland, MD to Pittsburgh, PA. 8:00 am Depart Shepherd's Spring, visit Cumberland Museum, bike Meyersdale, PA downhill to Cumberland MD, overnight in Cumberland, (Optional train ride to Frostburg, MD - miss Meyersdale, PA to Frostburg, MD section - add $40) Ride Meyersdale, PA and ride west to Connelsville, PA overnight at Laurelville, PA ride west to Pittsburg, PA overnight at Laurelville, PA final day tour of Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Waters with lunch.

About This Organizer

Shepherd’s Spring Outdoor Ministry and Retreat Center is a beautiful 220-acre retreat setting of rolling, wooded land along the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal and the Potomac River, just three miles from Antietam National Battlefield near Sharpsburg, MD and about 1.5 hours from Washington, DC. Its mission is as an outdoor ministry, education, conference, and retreat center, provides opportunities for spiritual renewal and growth, stewardship of God’s creation, and the experience of community, for all ages. It is fulfilled through year-round programing featuring summer camps for children and youth, programmed as well as unstructured retreats for individuals, religious and educational groups, non-profit and business organizations as well as governmental entities and other outdoor experiences as advantaged by its location to so many area attractions and historic sites
