The Plein Air Palette
Scott Gellatly
Oct 20, 2013
1pm - 6pm

This five-hour afternoon workshop will follow the free lecture/demonstration Sunday morning from 10 - noon on Color Space, pigment history, and color palettes. This workshop is taught by Scott Gellatly, Product Manager for Gamblin Artists Colors.  Scott consults with painters worldwide on technical issues and is involved in developing and testing all of Gamblin oil colors and mediums.

The afternoon of painting will build on information presented in the morning session. Gamblin Oils will be supplying paint and Gamsol to participants and Scott will demonstrate the range and use of this particular palette of colors in the plein air context. Students will then explore the potentials of these colors in their own plein air work. The balance of the afternoon will be spent painting with Scott giving individual attention to each participant. At the end of the session the group will meet together for a look at the paintings produced.

Make color work for you and your work!
