The Luminous Landscape

About This Activity

The Luminous Landscape
with John McCormick
April 29 - May 3

The practice of art can be part of our daily experience.  Through this practice, we begin to realize a deeper communion with the world we live in and new ways of seeing. This five day intensive workshop invites painters at all levels to immerse themselves in the "daily practice of art".
Daily sessions will include understanding the importance of drawing quick thumbnails and sketches, the development of strong composition and value arrangement and the process of building a successful painting.
We will review basic oil painting technique, including setting up a palette, mixing colors, use of brushes, color theory and composition.  We will work on location for two days sketching, painting and gathering resource material, then come back and work in the studio for three days to refine and create larger paintings.
Additionally, there will be class discussions and critique of work so that participants will learn from individual instruction as well as each other.

Payment Options: Students may pay in full or choose the payment-plan option during registration. The payment plan requires a non-refundable $100 deposit with the balance due 30 days before the first day of the workshop.
