What's Included

Recommended for children ages 8-12 years old. Registration for Marble Runs is for both dates. Part 1: February 13, 2016 CuriOdyssey’s “Kinetic Coaster” exhibit mesmerizes visitors of all ages. Now students can craft their own Marble Run with drops, twists, and turns. Students will start with an exploration of gravity and then have a lesson on how to use building tools safely. For the remainder of the workshop participants will design and begin building the foundation of their marble run. Part 2: February 27, 2016 Engineers must know how to build structures that will hold up against nature’s tests. Continuing the momentum from the previous workshop, participants will explore how various materials can help or hinder the strength of their marble run. Foundations, braces, and supports will be used to complete the building the building process. If time allows, fun features such as levers, elevators, or spinners can be added. Participants will take home and can continue to upgrade their marble runs. This is sure to be an exciting conclusion to your creative contraptions!
