In the spirit to create a safe society while promoting the physical, social and mental development of our youth, SMPAL brings you this 5k Run/Walk in collaboration with Stride for Awareness to promote the importance of a healthy mind, body and community.
This is a community event that brings us together for Student Wellness, to better ourselves, our communty, and the world we live in, one stride at a time.
Open to ALL Runners and Walkers of all levels.
(Chip timed and USTAF certified course)

Race starts promptly at 9am.
Race Packets and T-Shirts can be picked up on Saturday May 20th between 10am-12pm at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center, 725 Monte Diablo Ave., San Mateo. Registration for the 5K will also be available there. You are invited to attend the FREE Speaker Session: From Students' Perspective, A Look at Student Health and Mental Wellness.
We encourage you to wear your T-shirts at the run as part of our effort to Raise Awareness about Student Wellness!
Race Day Events:
- ZoomCaffe truck on-site with a full coffee menu to fuel everyone's morning, so there's no need to stop by your local coffee spot!
- Barre3 will lead the Pre-Race stretches
- Core Power Yoga will help you with Post-Race stretches
- Each participant will receive a goody bag and medal
- Visit various tables of Health and Wellness Advocates
- Fun Raffle prizes
