Beginner II/ Beginner I

About This Activity

This is a combination class of Beginner I and Beginner II levels.

Beginner I: This class is designed to introduce children to the water through water adjustment activities encouraging confidence, skill development and fun. Skill objectives include bobbing, front and back floating, jumping into chest deep water, and the beginner stroke for 5 pulls with breathing.

Beginner II: This course is designed to increase the swimming ability of the student and to increase stamina, coordination and pool safety awareness. Skill objectives include introduction to front crawl stroke, introduction to modified elementary backstroke, turning over, changing direction, introduction to treading water, head first retrieval of object from pool bottom, and jumping into deep water, leveling off and swimming 15 yards.
