Always the FIRST Saturday in DecemberMission to Mission Bike Tour is a family and individual bike tour providing riders three levels of participation: Family Tour (12-14), a Performance Tour (32), an Edurance Tour (55), and a Metric Century (63).
Family Tour: The 12-14 mile family route winds through historic neighborhoods and touches four Spanish Colonial Missions founded along the San Antonio River. The route can be adjusted to meet BSA merit badge requirements, and it offers an opportunity to explore the ever changing activities within the Missions National Historic Park. Riders can access the newly completed hike and bike paths along the San Antonio River. Performance Tour: The 32 mile performance route retraces early Spanish trails as it loops southward beyond the Missions National Historic Park and skirts the western reaches of Braunig Lake. The performance route is primarily flat and utilizes city, state, and county roads through the mostly rural Southside. Edurance Tour: The 55 mile endurance route circles Calevaras Lake and provides a shortened "back door" alternative allows riders to shorten the Metric Century. Metric Century: The 62 mile Metric Century duplicates the performance route and then circles Calevaras Lake before exploring the deep southside in a lazy circle of Calevaras Lake. Riders traverse the level countryside on city, county and state roads. Thanks to San Antonio River Authority, City of San Antonio, the County of Bexar, and the National Park Service for providing the coordination and services that make the Mission to Mission Bike Tour possible.
