possible, but needs to adhere to strict numbers for safety and quality of Instruction.

PARENTS MUST READ:
1. Recommended PFD is the “Extrasport Challenger” type III vest or a similar high
elastic-waist, front zip model. These are available from many retail stores. A student
who does not bring his or her own PFD which fits properly will not be allowed to
participate in on–the-water lessons. Ask the vendor which size your child should
wear; this is usually determined by the child’s weight. A PFD is required to be worn fully zipped when stepping on the dock and in when in boats.
2. A swim assessment may be given at the beginning of each session
3. It is REQUIRED that students wear proper footwear (NO flip flops) and highly
recommended that they wear sailing gloves and sunglasses to provide UV protection
(with a keeper strap). Students who do not use these items run a high risk of injury.
A keeper strap is a must for students with prescription glasses.
3. All students and their parents are required to understand and adhere to the EYC
Expected Rules of Behavior (Code of Conduct). Although the EYC junior
instruction program is designed to be lots of fun, it is educational in nature and not a
day care service. Proper and safe behavior is expected of students at all times. Students
who do not exhibit proper behavior, or who behave in an unsafe manner, are
subject to expulsion. Life jackets must be worn and zipped at all times when students
are on the water. Please discuss these expectations with your child.
4. The EYC lesson program has a curriculum, including both on-shore and on-the water
instruction, which is derived from the US Sailing model curriculum and which
is too detailed to be included here. For a copy of the curriculum outline, contact the
Club Director.
5. As part of the revised and upgraded curriculum, each student is required to own
certain textbooks. If the student does not already own the book(s), they can be
purchased from the EYC by filling in the appropriate blank on the enrollment application.
Please be sure to write the student’s name in permanent marker pen on the
student’s textbook, PFD and any other items they bring to the club.
6. IMPORTANT: Please do not park in the Ephraim Yacht Harbor spaces or on the
highway. If all EYC parking is taken, please park at the Ephraim Village Information
parking lot.
7. By submitting the Lesson Program Application, it is understood that all Rules and
Requirements of the program, including EYC membership requirements will be followed by the students and parents.
8. During the Season, if you have any questions about the education program(s), please contact 920-854-7107.

JUNIOR ACTIVITIES:
One of the highlights of the summer for children who have completed 1st grade is the Junior Activities Program. To make this possible, parent volunteers are essential. You will assist the weekly coordinators who have already volunteered to chair events. Please indicate on the application form your choices of which date(s) you wish to help.
