What's Included

June 13-14-15 & 20-21-22 Young adults will gain practical, hands-on building experience, learn to work well as part of a team, and get the gratification that comes from building something and seeing their good work. This course will give participants the confidence, basic skill set and knowledge to start and finish a project. In 2-Three day sessions, students will develop and perfect building skills, from foundation to roof framing, completing a small bunkhouse under the guidance of Steve Holt and his staff. The course is structured for young adults wishing to immerse themselves in a building project. Adults wishing to help, while gaining some great building skills, are encouraged to attend. Students will learn: Site planning, layout, and foundation principles Floor, wall, and roof framing Conventional woodworking skills Window and door installation Water and weather proofing Classroom topics include: Review of sustainable building alternatives, use of recycled materials, and intro to basic mechanical systems This is a great Father & Son activity!
