Fees

Before 10/1, adults $22; students in high school and younger $18. 10/1 and after, $26 for all. No online registration surcharge.

Brief Description

Eligibility: All walkers/runners who are able to walk/run the course are encouraged to participate in this fun community event. Course: 5K starts at Reynolds H.S. going north on N. Hawthorne Rd., left on Virginia Rd., left on Roslyn Rd., right on Fieldale Drive, right on Dartmouth Rd. and right to loop through parking lot for doughnuts and water. Runners turn left out of parking lot on Dartmouth, left on Forest Drive, left on Roslyn Road and then retraces the rest of route back to Reynolds.

This year we are excited to announce that the shirts will be Short Sleeve Moisture Wicking Shirts!

NEW FOR 2012- Different Race Categories

Starting this year, we will now have Dough and No Dough categories. The Dough portion will be for runners who want to eat the 6 doughnuts halfway through. The No Dough will be a regular 5K for those who want to run or walk without the doughnut portion at the halfway point.

Awards

Awards for Top 3 Male and Female Finishers in the Dough category and the Top 3 Male and Female Finishers in each age group for the No Dough category. Refreshments and Door Prizes for everyone.

Registration

Online registration will close Oct. 10th. You can register at packet pick-up on Friday, October 9th from 4-6 pm at Reynolds High School or on race day 7:30-8:30 am.

All money raised goes towards Traumatic Brain Injury Research, Prevention, and Treatment. Proceeds from the run will be donated to the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and the Matthew Gfeller Sport-Related Traumatic Brain Injury Research Center at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Additional Information

Music and Doughnuts: Performing arts students from Reynolds High School will provide entertainment along the course. At the halfway point in the course, Krispy Kreme original glazed doughnuts and water will be set up. T- shirts guaranteed to first 600 registrants. Our maximum number of entrants will be 900, after which we will close registration. Packet Pick-Up: Friday, November 11, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., Reynolds High School Race day, 7:30 – 8:30 a.m. Awards: Challengers only, both male and female – top 3 finishers and top 3 age group winners: 14 and under, 15 – 19, 20 – 29, 30 – 39, 40 – 49, 50 & over. Two categories of participants: In the spirit of fun, you must register as either a: • Challenger – run halfway, eat a half-dozen doughnuts, run the rest of the race • Casual runner – run/walk halfway, eat less than 6 doughnuts, run/walk the rest of the race Awards for Challengers, refreshments and door prizes immediately following the race.
