Brief Description

The fourth annual Azalea Festival Big Buddy 5k, 10K and Fun Walk will be held at the Mayfaire Town Center Try Sports Field. The course will be USATF certified. Please visit the race website for more information at www.azaleafestivalbigbuddy5k.com

Directions

Go to www.mayfairetown.com and click on the "Map & Directions" tab. Mayfaire is located between Highway 74/Eastwood Road and Highway 76/Military Cutoff Road in Wilmington. Just 1 ½ miles west of Wrightsville Beach.

Packet Pick Up

Pick up your race packets on Friday, April 5th before the race at the Hilton Garden Inn Wilmington Mayfaire Town Center from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Race Day packet pickup is at the race site 6:30 until 7:30 am.

Race Beneficiary

The race benefits the Cape Fear Volunteer Center’s Big Buddy Program. The program is a, one-on-one mentoring program that matches “at-risk” youth ages 6-18 in New Hanover County with positive adult role models. The Cape Fear Volunteer Center works to recruit and train volunteers, matches volunteers with youth, offers support and guidance through case management, and provides monthly group activities.

Additional Information

The race features first place awards in 5 year age groups and top three overall male and female runners for each race. The awards will be presented at the TRYSPORTS field after the race. There will be a costume contest gain this year! So get creative and wear something fun!

Additional Information

Entry fees are $30 for all events until March 23th. After March 23th the fee increases to $35. Online registration will close on April 4th but registration will also be available during packet pick up on April 5th and on race morning before 7:30. T-SHIRTS CAN ONLY BE GUARANTEED TO THOSE WHO REGISTER PRIOR TO MARCH 23rd.
