Additional Information
The Teal Ribbon 5K Run/Walk to Fight Ovarian Cancer is organized by the Delaware Ovarian Cancer Foundation (DOCF) to raise funds for education, awareness, support & research. Ovarian cancer, a critical women’s health issue, affects an estimated one in 55 women. Currently, there is no reliable screening & only about 20% of cases are found in the early stages resulting in an overall low survival rate. The symptoms of ovarian cancer are vague & mimic those of other conditions, which is why women often are misdiagnosed by physicians. This is why women need to be aware of this potentially fatal disease.
