Billions of people around the world are without access to clean water. Families, mostly women and children walk 6-12 kilometers to acquire water. Children live their lives infected constantly with waterborne diseases. 1.8 million deaths occur each year due to lack of access to clean water. To help this world crisis, proceeds of The Westlake 5K/10K Run/Walk for Global Water will go to Rotary's Global Water Projects that help provide safe and clean potable water to poor families and children.
