Pride Run 2011 marks the 30th anniversary of the LA Frontrunner Run/Walk for LGBT Pride. Come join us in celebrating 30 years of running, fitness, friendship, and family. Our race is 100% volunteer organiized and run. Our beneficiaries are listed below.
Pride Run 2011 features a traditional 5K and 10K Race, a 5K Race Walk, and a Kids Race. Back this year is the Ultra Pride Run, where runners run both the 5K and 10K and the lowest cumulative time is the winner. The 5K Run and 5K Race Walk begin at 7:30 a.m. and the 10K begins at 8:30 a.m.
Awards will be given to the top 3 overall males and females in both the 5K and 10K. Age group awards are top 3 in the following categories: 10 & Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+
Awards will be given in the 5K Race Walk and Ultra Pride Run to the top 3 overall males and females. NEW this year are top 3 age group awards in the Ultra Pride Run: Open (29 & Under), Sub-Masters (30-39), Masters (40-49), Super Masters (50-59), and Senior Masters (60+)
The Kids Race will start at approximately 9:45 a.m. (after the 10K) and is free. There is a section in the 5K/10K registration form to register your children. Every child will receive a race number, medal, and goodie bag.
Loop (5K is one loop, 10K is two loops), paved, mostly flat with gradual rise on first half. Course is USAT&F Certified. Starts at West Hollywood City Hall, 8300 Santa Monica Blvd., WeHo, CA, 90069
You can register online at active.com until 11:59 pm, June 9. Prices are $30 for the 5K/10K Walk/Run and $35 for Ultra Pride Run. You may also register at packet pick-up Saturday, June 11, at Griffith Park (see info above) or race morning starting at 6:00 a.m. (please note an additional $5 late registration fee applies).
Packet pick-up will be race morning starting at 6:00 a.m. There will also be a packet pick-up at Griffith Park on Saturday, June 11th, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. after our fun run. Check our website for our Saturday morning fun run location.
LA Frontrunners is a running/walking club for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people and their friends and supporters. Persons of all abilities are welcome! We participate in running events, weekly fun runs, our annual Pride Run, our Grand Prix racing series, social events, and more. LA Frontrunners is one of more than 100 FR clubs in the U.S. and around the world. We are celebrating our 30th year, and are proud of the long tradition of promoting a healthy community.
Proceeds from the 2011 Pride Run will be donated to three outstanding Los Angeles non-profits: Project Angel Food, Students Run L.A., and GALAA (Gay & Lesbian Allied Administrators).
Please bring your gently worn running shoes to donate to Deo's Running Shoe Drive. Deo Jaravata is our LAFR marathon king - he has run 252 marathons as of June 1. Deo will be transporting the collected running shoes to Mindanao in the Phillippines to donate to poor running clubs in the region.
