Brief Description

The 8th Annual Habitat for Humanity Run/Walk is set for Saturday, October 8, 2011. We anticipate the participation to be approx. 400 10K and 5K runners, 5K walkers and youth fun run participants. The 10K and 5K timed runs are part of the Columbia Running Club's Tour de Columbia (http://www.colarunclub.com). The 10K course is USATF-certified (SC04027BS). 100% of the profits go to support Central South Carolina Habitat for Humanity's efforts to build homes in the Cayce/West Columbia area.

Directions

From Columbia, Hwy. 378 towards Lexington, one street past the Riverbanks Zoo Botannical Gardens entrance, turn right on Kay Koon Road to park as directed by parking officials.

Parking

Turn on Kay Koon Road (runs behind Providence Presbyterian Church) and observe the parking signs, and follow the parking officials. See map at http://www.providencepresbyterian.net/Habitat/habitat_for_humanity_run.htm to see more details on where to park and where not to park. Thank you!

Additional Information

The course has rolling hills throughout, the toughest being the first 3.25mi of the 10K and first 1.5mi of the 5K. There are two water stops along the route, goodie bags and t-shirts for ALL registrants. Both the 10K and 5K have the option of group/family registrations, FIVE per group to quality for the reduced rate per registrant. Medals are awarded to each Youth Fun Run finisher (ages 4-11). Unique awards for top finishers of the 10K and 5K Runs (sledgehammers, hammers, other tools)--runs 3-deep in each age category, both races.
