The Eisenbahn, a German Word for railroad, is built on a former railroad corridor. A mostly flat route, the course is USATF Certified. The trail is surfaced with limestone screenings for about 20 miles from Eden to Northwestern Avenue in West Bend. In West Bend the trail is paved with asphalt for about 5 miles from Northwestern Avenue to the southern trailhead at Rusco Drive.
Participants will go off the trail periodically and enjoy the scenery of the Kettle Moraine area. When the participants are off the trail, the course is open and runners should follow the rules of an open course.
Packet Pick up will be on Friday August 27, 2010 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at the Kettle Moraine YMCA located at 1111 W. Washington Street.
The morning of the race, participants will park at the River Shores Kettle Moraine YMCA, 705 Village Green Way in West Bend--an easy walk from where you will park your car. Busses will leave at 5:00a.m. for ALL MARATHON participants and at 5:45a.m. for ALL HALF marathon participants. There is no parking available at the starting lines.
Plenty of water/aid stations and Porta Potties will be available along the course. The Finish Line will be located at the newly restored Railroad Depot located in downtown West Bend. Participants and their families can enjoy the Farmer's Market, Art Fair and Germanfest near the finish line.
Participants must be 16 years or older. Registrations are non-refundable.
Finisher medals will be provided along with a technical t-shirt and other goodies.
