The Eisenbahn, a German Word for railroad, is built on a former railroad corridor. A mostly flat route, the course is USATF Certified. The trail is surfaced with limestone screenings for about 20 miles from Eden. In West Bend the trail is paved with asphalt for about 5 miles.
Participants will go off the trail periodically and enjoy the scenery of the Kettle Moraine area. When the participants are off the trail, the course is open and runners should follow the rules of an open course.
Packet Pick up will be from 2:00pm -8:00pm on Saturday June 9, 2012 at the Kettle Moraine YMCA at River Shores located at 705 Village Green Way West Bend WI.
The morning of the race, busses will leave from the River Shores Kettle Moraine YMCA, 705 Village Green Way in West Bend--an easy walk from where you will park your car. Busses will leave at 4:45.m. for ALL MARATHON participants and at 5:45a.m. for ALL HALF marathon participants. There is no parking available at the starting lines.
Plenty of water/aid stations and Porta Potties will be available along the course. The Finish Line will be located near the YMCA River Shores. Participants can shower and change at the YMCA River Shores and then join their families at the Farmer's Market, Art Fair and Germanfest near the finish line.
Registrations are non-refundable. Finisher medals will be provided along with a technical t-shirt and other goodies.
