The Waterloo Ramada Inn is offering discounted rooms for race participants. The hotel has a skywalk to the Convention center where all Friday's activity takes place. It is less than 10 minutes from the state park. Call 319-233-7560 and ask for the discount. Rooms are limited so call early!
The 5 Sullivan Brothers Convention from 4 to 8 will host early packet pick up and late registration. In addition there will be tables of interest for participants to browse and free products to sample.
The 5 Sullivan Brothers Convention Center will be the site for an inexpensive and quality all-you-can-eat pasta meal for the whole family. Adults are only $7 and children 12& under are only $5 if you buy tickets ahead of time. At the door will be available, but more expensive.
AMB chip timing will be used for both races. Chips may only be picked up SATURDAY morning before the race.
All half marathon finishers will receive a custom made finisher medal.
Male and female half marathon only win money: 1st - $150, 2nd - $100, 3rd - $50; plus award. There is a $250 bonus for a course record. A course record for the 5k will get $100. The winners of the half and the 5k race also win a free pair (choice) of Mizuno shoes (race sponsor). Age group winners 3 deep will receive medals. See web site for age groups.
Long sleeve performance shirts will be available for purchase. Deadline to order is August 31. Purchase of performance shirt replaces cotton shirt. Dri-fit performance hats that are embroidered with the race logo are available in limited quantities.
Sign up in 2, 3 or 4 person teams for 3-3.5 mile legs. Teams can be female, male or open (mixed). Special awards, special shirts and the other half marathon perks will be available to all members of relay teams. Special relay team awards will be given to the top 3 teams in each division: female, male and open.
The post race at Park to Park is the best there is in Northeast Iowa. Free massages, free Michelob Ultra, Hy-Vee BBQ, Gatorade, Panera Bagels, fruit and other goodies await finishers. Music will be playing all morning, as well.
The Park to Park races proudly support the Black Hawk Family & Children's Council, Iowa's female racing team RunAblaze, Cedar Falls High School's drum corps with race proceeds. You may donate to groups voluntarily if you wish.
