Brief Description

Did you know right here in Washington, DC there are only 130 shelter beds to support a need of 175 women a week seeking refuge because of domestic abuse? In 2009, the Metropolitan Police Department received 31,000+ domestic-related calls ---- 1 every 17 minutes. MDP Chief Cathy Lanier has expressed concern that the domestic violence homicides have increased by 5%. Your participation helps us proclaim LIBERTY!

Charity Benefit

The proceeds of the his event will support Women of Freedom Foundation which provides educational awarness, support and financal assistance to women who have been physically and emotionally abused.

RACE DAY TIMES

The 5K Run and Walk will start at the former site of the "Awakening" statue. RUN 8:00 AM WALK 8:05 AM

Prizes will be awarded to the top 2 winners in each category for runners, Walkers and Teams: Male & Female

Directions

Hains Point is across the Potomac River from Ronald Regan National Airport. From US 50E take George Washington Parkway South towards the Memorial Bridge. Take I-395N towards Washington (crossing into District of Columbia). Take the exit East Potmac Park and turn left onto Buckeye Drive South West. Turn left onto Ohio Drive.

Team Captains

Team Members

Please click the green "Register Now" button to register. On the registration form, select your team from the drop down list of team names and continue with your registration. If you do NOT see your team name in the drop down list, please contact your team captain.

Additional Information

Registration includes a Goodie Bag with T-shirt. Prizes will be awarded to the 2 top teams, male and female runners and walkers.
