Brief Description

This is one race which is happy to say they have gone to the dogs. The featured 5K, which begins at 10 am, is followed by a 1-mile walk for participants and their dogs.

History

Over 170 runners and walkers registered for the 5K last year with Scott Holden capturing the win in 20:02. Marissa Banks ran 21:09 in winning the women’s title and setting a new women’s course record. Shawn Sanson holds the men’s course record of 17:22 which he set in 2010.

Entry Fees

The entry fee for the 5K is $20 ($25 after October 5, up to and including race day). The fees for 1-Mile Dog Walk are $15 and $20, respectively.

Awards

In the 5K, awards will be presented to the first three males overall, to the first three females overall, and to the first-place finisher in each of the following age groups (both sexes): 15-under, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, and 65-over.

Benefitting Charity

Profits from the event will benefit the Franklin County Humane Society in their goal to build an animal shelter where area pets and find safe refuge until they can be adopted to permanent homes.
