WHY

To honor our service members: You may run in honor of a member of our armed services killed or wounded in action. All proceeds will benefit the TAPS tragedy assistance program for survivors and the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP).

COST

5K - $25
After November 8, 2012 - $30
Race Day Registration - $35

Fun Run - 1 Mile - $15
After November 8, 2012 - $20

REGISTRATION

Online Registration will close November 18 at 9:00 PM Eastern Time

COURSE

The race will start on Dominion Road and turn left on Ayr Hill Avenue, NE.
Runners will turn Right on Center.
The course turns right on Mill Street, NE where runners enter the W&OD Trail. This is an out an back course which will finish back on Dominion Road.

PACKET PICKUP

Race Day 6:30-7:30 am

AWARDS

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 female and male 5k finishers in all age groups. The age groups are divided as follows: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 +.

WATER STOP

There will be 1 water stop on the course.

BENEFICIARIES

TAPS is the 24/7 tragedy assistance resource for ANYONE who has suffered the loss of a military loved one, regardless of the relationship to the deceased or the circumstance of the death.

Wounded Warrior Project (CFC #11425) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization headquartered in Jacksonville FL with additional program offices located in New York City and Washington DC. WWP was founded in Roanoke VA by a group of veterans and friends who took action to help the injured service men and women of this generation. Its objectives:

--To raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members
--To help injured service members aid and assist each other
--To provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members
