Brief Description

Ringing in Spring is a 5K road race, that was founded in 1995 to support the Valparaiso YMCA's fitness programs. Today, it is the most widely-anticipated springtime race in Northwest Indiana. Ringing in Spring is small enough to have hometown intimacy and charm but large enough to host both first-time runners and the region's fastest runners. Ringing in Spring now offers for the first time a 10K!

DISTANCE AND RACE INFORMATION 5K race, 10 K race, and prediction walk. The course showcases the new Cumberland Crossing and the picturesque Walden. It has an flat start and finish with hill through Walden. - ***CHIP TIMING*** - CARA Certified - Gold Cup Series - Split times at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, & 6 miles - Water stop near 1.5 miles - Valparaiso Fit City endorsed event START & FINISH Location: Just west of the NEW Valparaiso YMCA at 1201 Cumberland Crossing (formerly County Seat Plaza), just off Calumet Ave, near K-Mart in Valparaiso. SHIRTS All shirts are made of wicking moisture management fabric, which helps you stay dry when exercising. Choose from men's short sleeve tee or women's short sleeve tee. All shirt sizes/styles are subject to availability if not pre-registered. To guarantee your shirt choice, register by March 26. AWARDS Run: Unique overall, masters, and age group awards after the race. Age group awards will be issued 3 per division for each race. PROHIBITED ITEMS: For the safety of all participants, the following are prohibited: dogs (even if leashed), strollers, baby joggers, rollerblades, roller-shoes, roller-skates, other wheeled items, and any other items at the race director's discretion. Participants needing exceptions because of disability should kindly notify the race director as soon as possible before race day. have been requested to be on-hand. Portable music players like iPods are not allowed on the course--USATF rule #144.3b.
