Brief Description
Voted Best Certified Half Marathon S Illinois. Start w Color Guard presenting American Flag, USA National Anthem. Plenty of Volunteers, Finishers Medals, Hardwood Plaque Awards. T-Shirt w 6 color logo. Live music, well stocked aid stations, miles marked. 5K out and back course on flat to rolling county road thru beautiful farm country. Half Marathon course w 2 mi gradual down hill, to a flat. 2 mi will be up hill for the finish. Half Marathon Course is certified, IL-05013JW. Course closes 11AM

T-Shirts are not guaranteed for late or same day registration. AID STATIONS AT MILE 1.5 on 5K course. AID STATIONS AT EVERY MILE OF THE HALF MARATHON! PORT-A-POTTIES at mile 4, 7 and 11. The Valmeyer Active Fireman Association and Backstoppers are the organizations who are beneficiaries from this event.
Started in 1959, The BackStoppers provides needed support and financial assistance to the spouses and children of all local and county police officers, firefighters, publicly-funded paramedics and EMTs and volunteer fire protection units, who have lost their lives performing their duty.
